Gulf Shores Oyster Cook-Off
There's no better way to get a feel for a city's culinary scene than to attend a local food event. I recently spent a long weekend exploring beautiful Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, and had the pleasure to attend the Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Festival at the Hangout. Chefs competed in three areas: Rockefeller, Cajun and raw. Here's a visual sampling of the dozens of creative, delicious oyster dishes I tried. My top pick: a Cajun sausage-oyster corn dog with spicy mustard. The trip inspired this DYK article for Taste of Home.
